DPS Miyapur School Review
For the 2016-17 year, DPS Miyapur(Actually it is not in Miyapur, it is around 12 KMs away from Miyapur and is located in Bowrampet Village near VNR engineering College) has given admissions for many students. Unlike other DPS branches in Hyderabad, getting admission in to DPS Miyapur easy as it is a new branch.
DPS Miyapur has around 500 to 700 new admissions this year for the classes LKG to 4th Class.
Pros:
- DPS Brand
- Punctuality
- Co curricular Activities
- Well defined Curriculum
- Well Qualified Teachers
Cons:
- Timings are too early (School starts at 8:00 AM), And students needs to be reported 10 to 15 mins before the school start time. School Buses starts from 6.30 onwards and the last pick time is 7.10(approx) AM.
- 6 days a week
- It is located far away from the City. Around 12 KMs from Miyapur and 15 KMs from Chandanagar.
-Still the school building is in construction. Construction is completed.
- Transportation fees are comparatively high and they do not have advanced technologies like GPS to track the buses.
- Class strength is more..(Can you Guess how much it is???????it is 40)
- As the class strength is more, individual care would be definitely an issue.
Primary motto of DPS Miyapur(and all other branches) is to improve & maintain the good discipline and social behavior among the students.
If you would like your child to be well disciplined and good at academics DPS miyapur is the best choice.
If you would like your child NOT to be in very strict environment do not opt for this.

ReplyDeleteI can say it is a good option. As of now, DPS is miyapur is good till 4th Standard. From the next academic year they are staring from 5th to 7th grade. It is managed by DPS (not a franchise), SO they maintains the standards for sure.

DeleteSorry to say but it a franchise i.e. Vidyananda Education Society (VES) which has brought DPS to Hyderabad, has now opened its third DPS branch at Miyapur (Bowrampet) after Khajaguda, Hyderabad and Diamond Point, Secunderabad.

I am planning to take admission of my 2 kids in grade 5 and 9 but I am bit confused as it is a new school till grade 9 ..its a franchise or directly coming under DPS administration??? Same syllabus and exam patterns or not have doubts
DeleteIf possible , I would advise you to look out for others schools .The standard of education is very low here and the teachers are busy in finishing the syllabus and very much course oriented . Questioning is not encouraged in classes and any point brought by students which contradicts the book's and teacher's version (but is true) is immediately discouraged and shut down , the classes are not interactive . In today's age more stress should be provided on independent thinking and questioning , but it seems that they are still following the age old style of teaching which we had during our childhood days .

DeleteClass strength is 40 but there will be two class teachers and one ayyamma will be there... you can think 2 teachers can handle 40 kids...

Yes, buses starts very early. All the buses should reach to school by 7.45 am.
As per my knowledge the last pickup time is around 7.10am..

I visited school campus with positive vibrations about dps miyapur to take admission for my my kid in first grade.
They proved me wrong in first interaction only. The staff were really rude and they don't even reveal a single information about the school if we don't take the admission form by paying 600/-. I told them that I will take it after knowing the basic details lik fee structure and a school tour... they have not agreed and refused to give those details...the way they respond to parents are very rude.. they never give a minimum importance to parents...I then decided not to join my kid in a school where they never give attention to patents..and walked out of the dps... immediately I visited Ganges Valley where the hospitality is completely different...and the same day I joined my kid there in Ganges Valley..

ReplyDeleteI really had a very bad experience with this school. teachers and staff are not co-operative. they don't care what parents and students to say about. everything is on their own terms. Welcoming of new joiners are really pathetic. They go with unconscious bias on kids first day impression and their admission test. Principal is not approachable. I joined my kids and now I have reverted the admission at the cost of tuition and transport 1 st term fee. Kids are sensitive if we teachers/principal act rude to them without finding the cause in detail, kids will never open up and they get scared to tell the truth. In this current generation running school like old ways like shout and scare the kids will not work.
ReplyDeleteI too had a bad experience with DPS Miyapur. THe staff were very rude when I went for enquiry of admission. They asked me to come next day as I went at 4pm. I called them and went to their office as they said I can visit till 5pm. I told them I came around 15 kms with my family to get the information, still they said no office now. Rude. An admin head came and he feels like he is a king there. Overall a pretty bad exp. I didnt join my kid in DPS Miyapur, as I dont want him to be over disciplined and burden him and ruin his character. If you love your child and want him to be a human, forget this school . If you want a robot marks wending machine with zero life skills, go ahead with DPS miyapur.

DeleteThe school is actually good. Even though the student to teacher ratio is high every student is given importance. There is scope of improvement academically, sports wise and culturally(whichever direction your kid goes).

DeleteJust using DPS name is bringing people to this school. Parents please do not go with the brand name. Its just a franchisee. 40 students per section and 1 teacher, they say 2:40 but who knows if the teacher is same for multiple classes? Better to stay away from this school.

DeleteI completely go by above statement - neither teachers are trained nor professional. Management who don't know how to behave with parents - the bread and butter for them - we just kept our kids for a better tomorrow - its just a foolish decision. They have been so mercy less - they are even beating lkg and pre-kg students in kids. If we raise a complaint against any one then it is gone case - your kid will not be considered for any event - and they will start complaining abt him in PTMs. Is it a school or not sure what to call as. Many schools are much and much better than this - I sincerely urge parents don't spoil your kids future - DPS is the not the only choice for your kid - the world is so vast - do some better inquiry before admitting him.

It is a good option, you will get quality education along with extra curricular activities. I think construction work is already completed. May be they are adding few more rooms for the upcoming students but the sports facilities are completed and are in use.

DeleteIt is a good school. Admission in DPS Miyapur is a good choice for grade 6. Higher studies are good. My daughter studies there and she likes the atmosphere and the improvements can be seen in all spheres.

ReplyDeleteI went to DPS Miyapur for admission of my child and have a very poor impression of the school. My child was falling short of their age criterion by some days but the person in the admission cell was not at all friendly. Instead of speaking politely and explaining things, he was extremely rude and impolite. His logic were insane. I would never look for that school now and won't recommend that at all.

DeleteYes even ive heard the same from my daughter, this school is a waste of your time the teachers and staff are not polite at all and dont treat the kids well. In PTM they always complain about your children even for the smallest mistakes like dropping food. The kids here act to mauture for their age and talk about many thhings not relevant. In 8th, 9th and 10th is where this mostly happens, my daughter barely gets any homework and she is in 9th. Overall this is an awful school and dont even consider it.
DeleteMy daughter cried a lot for joining Phoenix Greens but we didn't listen to her and forced her to go to Dps and now we regret because people are completely distracted from studies and they write love letters i found one in my daughter's bag and was completely speechless.I was really attached to dps but now I feel its just famous because of its name there's nothing in it. So I suggest if anyone else is going through same circumstances, listen to tour kid and dont force them.

My kid was studying last year in Vignan school Nizampet branch and we found the school good. Teacher and administration are pretty much hard working and take responsibility of teaching. So I would recommend that school. This year she is going to Kennedy school and teachers are very good there. They keep attention on every child so that no one is left behind. Even in this online teaching, they are doing their best efforts to monitor the progress of every child. One thing I liked about Kennedy is versatility of competition.

I went to seek admission for my child for grade 5 but they some very arrogant fellow who had all sorts of illogical arguement to refuse admission.I went to other schools and some of them refused too but the attitude in DPS Miyapur is worst. This school is seriously awful. The teachers and the co-ordinators target students and apply fake allegations like they are just kids. The school applies such bad allegations on students and the campus also is not at all well maintained, with no proper hall for assemblies, no proper tables or chairs for students and especially the education. Just not acceptable from a school like DPS this is highly unacceptable.
